P.S.(Pagos Seleccionados). This wine will be a super-premium wine, made
only in years when the quality of the harvest allows for the highest
standards. A special and careful selection of the best fruit, from
specific vineyards, leading to batch fermentation and individual
barriques leads to the name.
The Wine Advocate
The
2003 Aalto PS is purple/black with an unusually expressive nose for
this hot vintage. It reveals smoke, toast, vanilla spice, blueberry,
and blackberry jam. This is followed by a fleshy wine with excellent
depth and full-body.
The Wine Spectator
Hard
to resist this lush, modern red, with its mouthwatering blackberry and
boysenberry fruit and lavish toasty vanilla oak. But has plenty of
structure, with ripe tannins and fresh acidity, so give it time to
develop. Drink now through 2015.

Wine Advocate 92:
A purple-colored wine offering a stylish nose of smoke, toast,
graphite, blueberry, and blackberry liqueur. On the palate it is medium
to full-bodied, ripe, and slightly compact with an elegant dense finish. -- Wine Advocate
Ruby-red. Intense perfume of
boysenberry, sexy oak spices, vanilla and candied flowers. The
concentrated flavors of red and dark berries and vanilla are almost
sweet but are nicely lifted by juicy acidity. Finishes lush, broad and
long, with supple tannins.

| Cape D'Estaing Shiraz 2003 |
Winemaker's notes:
The color of this wine is
a very deep red, dark and opaque - typical of Cape d'Estaing wines. The
nose is lifted, ripe and forward showing generous plummy Shiraz notes
with plenty of complementary oak. The palate is big and full, with rich
lingering Shiraz flavors such as spice, plums and berry fruits. The
structure is solid and complete with the young tannins providing a
great backbone to the palate. The wine was aged in a combination of
French (60%) and American oak - 80% hogsheads and 20% barriques. 78% of
the barrels were new and the remainder had been used once before.
"The dense ruby/purple-colored 2003 Shiraz exhibits a
distinctive earthy component along with loads of spice, black currant,
plum, and sweet pepper-like characteristics, full body, beautiful
fruit, and surprising acidity as well as freshness. Drink it over the

| Clarendon Grenache Kangarilla 2004 |
Planted
on quite sandy soil with a flatter gradient, the wine is early to ripen
and always shows its characteristic raspberry/plum, blackberry fruits
intertwined with mint and other herbs. A very voluptuous wine which is
always a real crowd pleaser. Wine Advocate
From
another ancient vineyard composed of sandy soils overlaying clay, the
2004 Grenache Kangarilla is a big, up-front, exotic, fruit-dominated
effort displaying loads of mountain berries, blackberries, white
pepper, herbs, and spice. While not the most complex of these
Grenaches, it is a lush, fleshy, beautifully-textured example to enjoy
over the next 8-10 years.

Roman Bratasuik calls Kangarilla “quite a warm spot,” and that
character is evident in this wine’s dark blackberry and plum flavors,
soft, open-knit texture and warmth on the finish. It’s a lush, sexy

| Clarendon Hills Grenache Hickinbotham 2004 |
Situated
just across the road from the Clarendon Old Vines Grenache Vineyard but
on much harder ground facing north. The wine here is quite austere in
its youth developing slowly but positively. Always shows lots of spice
on the nose, marzipan also, and a palate which is long and tightly
focused with abundant white pepper and Asian spices in the aftertaste.
Wine Advocate 90 From
a vineyard planted in 1920, the dark ruby/purple-tinged 2004 Grenache
Hickinbotham reveals abundant quantities of sweet black raspberries,
blackberries, loamy soil, licorice, and spice. This evolved, forward,
plump, and lush as well as powerful cuvee can also be enjoyed over the
next 7-8 year. |

| Clarendon Hills Syrah Mortiz 2004 |
A very consistent vineyard, which always has very
dark color and black plum fruit with a gamey, leathery background.
This has more to do with Cornas or Hermitage.
Wine Advocate
An
amazing performance, even better than last year As showing from
tank, the 2004 Syrah Moritz is produced from one of Clarendon
Hills A youngest vineyard sites (planted in 1975). The wine was
aged in 42% new French oak for 18 months prior to being bottled unfined
and unfiltered. Gorgeous aromas of flowers, blueberries, cassis, and
meat jump from the glass of this cuvee. With huge body and a rich,
intense style, Bratasiuk claims it is his hypothetical blend of a
Cornas and Hermitage, although it possesses more fruit than most of
those wines. It should drink well for a minimum of 15 years.

Its a rich and dense, packed with authoritative flavors of dark
fruits ”blueberries and plums”accented by espresso and smoke. Long
and powerful on the finish, with 10-plus years of ageability.

cherry flavors that linger beautifully. Picks up meaty, gamy notes on

| Winery's Notes: "Made from 70% Cabernet
Sauvignon and 30% Cabernet Franc grown in estate vineyards in Umbria.
The grapes were harvested in October and the must spent 28 days on the
skins. Malolactic fermentation was carried out in barriques (Nevers and
Tronçais) where the wine remained for 16 months prior to an additional
6-12 months in bottle. Marciliano has a profound dark purple color and
exhibits complex aromas of tobacco and slate. This wine is a great
representation of Cabernet when all of nature's forces are working
together. Layers of fruit are evident on the nose and on the palate,
while the tannins are expressive without being too aggressive."

| Falesco Montiano 2003 |
winemaker's notes: Winner of Italy's coveted Tre Bicchieri
award. Made from 100% Merlot grown in the Montiano vineyard in Lazio.
Montiano's soil is volcanic and rich in stones and the vineyard has a
south/southwestern exposure. The grapes were harvested in early
September. After fermentation, the wine was aged in Nevers and Tronçais
barriques for 12 months. Montiano has a wonderful deep, ruby red color
and a wide range of aromas such as vanilla and small red fruits with
layers of jam and sweet spices. It is full-bodied, round and soft on
the palate with an elegant and lingering finish. |
